More than cats
Nine souls who chose us. Who entered our lives with soft steps and wide-open eyes.
They all came willingly, with untold stories or little ones growing in their bellies.
Some were rescued. Others rescued us.
But all of them — without exception — taught us something no human ever could.
They taught us that true love doesn’t ask. It simply settles. It watches you.
It curls up in your arms without fear.
They showed us that every personality matters — even the quiet ones, even those who don’t sit in laps.
Even those who meow too much, or not at all.
That beauty isn’t in the fur, but in the way they look for you when they think you’re not paying attention.
They taught us that trust is earned with time.
And that when you finally have it, it’s more precious than anything.
Cats are not toys. They are not purring furniture.
They are not “just animals.” They are souls.
They are characters. They are mirrors.
And if you’re lucky enough to be chosen by a cat — respect her.
Never raise your hand to her. Never chase her away. Never abandon her.
Learn to know her. To listen to her meow, to understand her needs, to respect her boundaries.
She will do the same for you — a thousand times over.
Maybe we gathered nine cats.
But the truth is, each of them gathered back everything soft and beautiful inside us.
And if, after closing this book, you pause for a moment and smile at a cat on the sidewalk,
then… I know it was worth telling you this story.
